Spuds MacKenzie was a fictional dog created for use in an advertising campaign marketing Bud Light beer in the late 1980s. The dog first showed up in a Bud Light Super Bowl ad. By the end of the game, Spuds was a marketing success. During the height of his popularity, large amounts of Spuds merchandise was available, such as plush toys and t-shirts. The dog, a Bull Terrier, existed not without his share of controversy. Shortly after Spuds’ rise to fame it was learned that “he” was actually female. The “controversy” was spread through the media. The dog’s real name was Honey Tree Evil Eye (c. 1983 – May 31, 1993). She died of kidney failure in North Riverside, Illinois. Because of the popularity of the ads, they were the subject of attacks and calls for censorship by temperance-oriented groups. In 1992, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, charged that Anheuser-Busch was pitching the dog to children. Although the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) found no evidence to support that allegation, the ads were dropped.

Is there any tricks to use that will make your make-up last all day? I already use foundation, eyeliner, mascara and eye-shadow that is advertised as long lasting, but by the time I am off work, it never looks as good as it did in the morning! I don’t sweat a lot (I work in an office), I try not to touch my face much, and I don’t have oily skin. Any suggestions?

I-bonds have a “fixed” earnings rate above inflation. Bonds recently are only earning 1% above inflation… those bought about 5 years ago have significantly higher rates… can I-bonds be sold in private market? I would think the older bonds can be sold significantly above the face value + accrued interest.

I had a fotofacialRF on Thursday morning and still by Sunday, my face is red, very swollen, and feels like leather. I’ve been hiding all weekend. I am upset that I may have to miss work Monday and so forth. The fotofacialRF is advertised “no down time”!!! So what happened?

Any thoughts about marketing a small tour business? I have good word of mouth, but it is in a single community and I need to expand beyond that circle to grow the business. Face to face presentations are best from my experience, but difficult to be in many places at once. How about direct mailings and web advertising (Google ad words?) Any insight is appreciated!
